The principal function of this position is to support the geospatial team in all aspects of operational delivery including: data management, quality control, data processing, data integration and analysis in order to deliver a wide variety of outputs to inform highway drainage asset management and maintenance.

As a team member your scope of duties during the first stage of professional development at Jacobs will include:

  • Working as part of the project team to deliver geospatial tasks to appropriate quality and deadlines

  • Remote surveying, LiDAR, GIS and working in common data environment on large infrastructure schemes like motorways, and supporting Environmental Impact Assessment process on a variety of schemes including flood protection, road improvements, railways, energy

  • Creation, editing and analysis of spatial datasets using GIS and other geospatial solutions

  • Management and quality control of geospatial/survey data

  • Compliance with QA processes to ensure data and deliverables are right first time

  • Delivery of geospatial projects and tasks to defined scope, budgets and timescales

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Experienced in helping to deliver GIS projects for internal and external clients

  • Expert user of ArcGIS Pro software and extensions

  • Data management skills

  • Experienced in the creation of web maps and web applications using ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Online or other

Desirable:

  • Experience setting up ESRI Story Maps, ESRI Experience Builder and managing users on ArcGIS Portal

  • Experienced in the management of mobile data capture software such as ArcGIS Collector;

  • Exposure to other desktop GIS software (e.g. FME, MapInfo, QGIS, GRASS);

  • Exposure to CAD based software (e.g. AutoCAD, MicroStation);

  • Exposure to Web-based GIS technologies Programming languages and software development (Javascript, Python, .NET);

  • Experience of GIS application to environmental sectors.
