We would like to welcome a Design Manager to be part of our Data Center Business, based in our Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Office. Main duties:

  • Manage all technical aspects of designs for assigned projects, and implement, where appropriate, the latest (or as governed by contract) International and National Standards, Codes of Practice, software and requirements of ‘good engineering practice' for all work performed.

  • Ensure adherence to Scope of Work and Design Basis Memorandum; identify variations in a timely manner, whether initiated by Client or internally. Obtain the Manager of Projects or Project Manager's (as applicable) approval of direction and any impact upon the project budget or schedule before implementation.

  • Responsible for the execution of assigned work; meeting the Company's contractual obligations and the Client's needs and expectations, on time, within budget.

  • Ensure direct, effective and timely communications of project requirements, routine reporting and sharing important information to Management, Heads of Department, the Project Manager, Lead Engineers and all supervised staff, conducting routine and working meetings as appropriate. Follow up to ensure a clear understanding.

  • Participate in meetings with the Project Manager, Client and third parties, to communicate specifications, construction scope of work, calculations, data sheets, material requisitions, etc.

  • To develop Project Execution Plan (PEP) using input from all discipline lead engineers. Revision, modification and issuance of procedures related to the projects based on contracts.

  • Implement the Client-agreed resolution of all comments into the documents produced under the direction of the Project Manager.

  • To provide input, cost, technical considerations and capabilities in tender or contract to project manager or manager of projects.

  • Perform the squad check of documents and drawings of other disciplines, reviewing all the interfaces to be coordinated, as required per contract and project requirements.

  • Perform any other duties (such as involvement during Tender Management & preparation of Bids) if required

  • Adhere to Company Quality Management System, HSE requirements, policies and procedures.

Here’s what you’ll need :

To be a successful candidate, you shall possess a minimum Degree in Engineering, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Data Center project delivery. Malaysia or South East Asia's local project experience is crucial.
