To lead the signalling aspects on projects with roles that signalling systems tender documentation preparation, preparation of BoQs, installation methodologies and commissioning strategies, and undertake reviews of contractor signalling system design including all wayside, train borne and control room sub-systems.

  • To act as an Engineering Consultant when required.

  • To assist in the training of signalling staff including acting as a mentor.

  • To act as independent checker as directed.

Core Responsibilities

  • Extensive knowledge of signalling standards, equipment, systems and processes and a wide experience of signalling design.

  • Undertake complex design and independent verification of the design of signalling systems that is compliant with technical, safety environmental and quality standards.

  • To produce integrated design details and supporting documentation using first principles for relevant parts of a new or altered signalling system.

  • To undertake complex signalling design with minimal rework in accordance with signalling design competency.

  • To produce signalling specifications and other relevant documentation

  • Conform to internal corporate rules, processes and/or procedures.

  • Adhere to all statutory regulations, client standards or specifications where appropriate.

  • To undertake risk assessments and analysis using the appropriate tools and methods required.

  • To produce and verify signalling design details of Signalling Plans, Control tables, location designs, cable core plans, bonding plans, power schematics and interlocking wiring, CB designs, in CBI, SSI and RRI area.

  • To act as a mentor to member/members of the signalling design staff as directed.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • The post holder should be educated to a bachelor’s degree in electrical/Electronics/Electronics and communication Engineering.

  • Broad experience of signalling system specification/design - including CBTC, ETCS

  • About 10 years of experience on the Railway Signalling

  • Experience delivering CBTC metro solutions

  • Having International exposure would be an advantage.

  • Able to lead and motivate people

  • Establish and maintain working relationships

  • Able to plan own work to meet project timescales and budgets

  • Able and confident to present to clients and others.

  • Good English written skills, essential for the production of reports and specifications.

  • Adopt and adapt new techniques as and when required.
