At Jacobs, our Power Solutions team is geared towards providing a more integrated approach offering end-to-end service to support our clients in energy networks, thermal generation, renewable generation and storage solutions space. We are helping our clients meet the challenges faced in countries and cities across the globe, providing innovative solutions from replacing conventional thermal power plants with renewable energy to developing demand side management strategies.  

We are looking for a Structural Hydropower Lead who will be responsible for leading the structural hydropower team in the APAC region (focus in Southeast Asia), performing complex structural designs for hydropower projects and project management, coordinating with the client, other specialist within Jacobs and Subcontractors.

The Structural Hydropower Lead will work collaboratively with other team members to deliver goals and targets of the team, section, and PU. Attend client meetings for business development purposes or project execution. Ensure tasks undertaken are understood completely before starting. Touch base with Section Lead periodically to ensure that you are on the right track. Monitor time taken as well as forward workload.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Structural design of hydropower projects (steel and concrete structures)

  • Lead the structural hydropower team in Jacobs APAC

  • Project Management (responsible to comply with the budget, scope of work and schedule)

  • Proposal preparation

  • Business development

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Engineering qualification and more than 12 years of experience in the structural design of hydropower projects.

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil Structural Engineering

  • Established experience in project management, communication with clients and subcontractors

  • Experience in managing, organising, directing, and leading teams

  • Be a user of a structural analysis software package like STAAD Pro or ANSYS
