Administrative Associate V


This is a Reserve Corps/Temporary Intermittent position on the NASATest, Evaluation, and Support contract at the White Sands Test Facility.

Dutiesmay include: 1.) Compare SMAC values in WSTF, MSFC and JSC databases to finddiscrepancies. 2.) Perform updates toWSTF SMAC values. 3.) Perform masterdata entry in Labvantage MCT system including parameter lists, parameters, testmethods and data sets. 4.) Perform testsof the Labvantage MCT workflow and programming and coding. 5.) Perform simpleor routine tasks such as performance chart updates, organizing/scanning olddata packs and simple tests.


Requirestwo (2) years of college with courses in business administration, industrialmanagement, or appropriate discipline with eight (8) years of progressive andrelevant experience. Additional relevant education may be substituted forprogressive experience.



Positioninvolves extended periods of sitting or standing. Physical requirements are:sitting, walking, standing, extensive use of stairs, and access to remotestructures. Position is located on ahazardous testing facility; must be able toquickly evacuate buildings in the event of an emergency. May be required to wear breathing protection (respirator),hearing protection, eye protection and other associated personal protectiveequipment.


Desk/office work and test area work. Test area work involves standing and directing technical personnel. Also involves working inside cleanrooms. Position requires individual totravel to different areas on site. Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, anddirt/sand is required to access various locations on the facility. All work must be completed in a safe mannerin accordance with NASA and Company safety standards.


Computer workrequired. Exempt employees will not operate equipment and machines involved in theperformance of testing; union personnel perform these tasks. However, personnel in this job will workaround pressurized fluid systems (nitrogen, air, water) and systems used forprocessing oxygen and hypergolic propellant components. Use ofcalculator, printer, fax, scanner, telephone, filing cabinets, and otherstandard office equipment is required.


Regular attendance and punctuality is required. Occasional overtime may be required insupport of test project schedules or other priority assignments as determinedby management or customer needs. Normalworking hours are nine (9) hour per day with some flexibility based onpre-approval. A condensed work schedule,allowing alternate Fridays off, is typically in use for each two week pay cycle(9-80 schedule). Personnel in the branch arecross-trained to allow for normal planned vacation and sick leave.


Knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and Project isnecessary Must be able to communicate effectively withindividuals at all levels of the organization. Must work well under pressure to meet deadline requirements. Dress must be appropriate for the positionand not pose a safety risk or hazard to the employee or others in accordancewith NASA and Company policies. Must beable to pass a physical examination (including drug testing) as determined bythe NASA White Sands Test Facility and the Company for the job classification. If applicable to the specific job assignment,must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. Must be a U.S Citizen. Must pass a Federal background investigation. Must maintain site access to NASA facilitiesand computer systems. Occasional travelmay be required.
