Description

Work in support of the MSTS contract at the NNSSfacilities in Nevada. This will be civil designing for projects at the on-site facilities.

The Civil Designer utilizes CADdesign skills to produce/preparecontract drawings using MicroStation 2D and 3D application software (InRoads,AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D).Inaddition you will interface with internal and external clients organizingassignments to ensure design budgets and timelines are met.

Dutiesinclude:

  • Incorporating survey information intodesign drawings.

  • Prepare drawings, including plans,sections, profiles, details, and sketches as needed to support project designs.

  • Planning and designing facilities, such asroads, railroads, and underground utilities.

  • Plans, schedule, and conduct civil designwork under the supervision of a Senior Civil Engineer.

  • Issue interim and final design drawings asrequired by project schedule.

  • Evaluate and incorporate comments to designdocuments.

  • Create as-built/record drawings.

  • Manage drawing files.

Qualifications

The minimum qualifications for thisposition are:

  • Post-secondary education in CivilEngineering Technology or an equivalent combination of education andexperience.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in deliveringSite/Civil designs including site layout, buried piping and services, and sitegrading projects.

  • Strong technical skills related to CADDstandards and automation.

  • Ability to prepare electronic drawing fileswithin project standards, using 3D modeling/surface models, sketches, layouts,project instructions and notes.

  • Familiar with discipline specific datacollection for internal use in estimating, specific to take-off reports.

  • Ability to establish close workingrelationship with project delivery teams, illustrating knowledge of Civil/BIMprocesses as they pertain to collaboration and coordination betweendisciplines.

  • Possess a strong working knowledge ofadvanced drafting practices and be familiar with CADD principles (i.e., textplacement and editing, layering, snap, precision input, etc).

  • Interface with Internal and ExternalContacts.

  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Microstationis a requirement.

  • Experience with Autodesk Civil3D andBentley Inroads/Openroads is preferable.

  • Exposure to Bentley Projectwise would be anasset.

  • Experience working with multi-disciplinaryteam in multiple geographic offices

  • Exposure Adobe Products.

High level oforganizational skills teams with a good attitude, strong leadership skills and excellent time management skills.

Able to work in a deadline driven, fast-pacedenvironment.

  • Able to set priorities and manage change tomeet the business needs and project schedules while managing multiple BIMprojects concurrently.

  • Ability to establish close workingrelationship with project delivery teams, illustrating knowledge of Civil/BIM processesas they pertain to collaboration and coordination between disciplines.

  • Excellent verbal, communication and problemsolving skills with strong attention to detail is a must.

  • Advanced knowledge of Windows O/S andMicrosoft Office is required.

Willingness to learn newsoftware, products, concepts, techniques and help develop new practices andstandards.
