Position Summary

Jacobs has an exciting opportunity for a Project Cost Analyst candidate to support a variety of transportation and construction management projects. The Project Cost Analyst will maintain project ledgers showing budget line items, commitments, expenditures and forecasts. Position can be located in the Las Vegas, NV or Phoenix, AZ office.

  • Perform project assignments to assist project managers with the success of their projects through monitoring of cost, schedule, budget, and procedures

  • Ensures the integrity of project budgets through approved scope changes, fiscal changes, and contingency reallocations

  • Daily interface between Management, Accounting, Procurement, Contracts, and Client

  • Issues project cost reports including actuals, estimates to complete, forecast final costs, and budget variances

  • Flags significant projected overruns or underruns

  • Assists in pricing new work

  • Verifies invoices

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience related to project cost control, contracts, and/or accounting is required

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, construction management or related field is preferred

  • Experience in engineering and/or construction work process and activity sequence is preferred

  • Must have a comprehensive understanding of industry processes, concepts, and principles, and can preform work of complex scope.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required

  • Candidate will work under general direction but able to work with little to no supervision and able to plan own task schedule to satisfy objectives.
