Your Impact:

The Data Science team, within the broader Digital Solutions business, is comprised of a broad range of individuals from varying backgrounds, who together work on diverse projects including data engineering, data science, detailed analytical and statistical modelling, front end application development and innovation in areas from machine vision to big data processing using cloud services and beyond.

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Data Science team as a Dashboard Developer.

The successful applicant will work in a fast paced and exciting environment with opportunity to shape best practice across the business. This role will utilise lean start-up methodologies to help in the specification, build and testing of both data visualisation dashboards and data pipeline solutions. This position is not only to be a developer but also to understand the customer need and desirability of features, translating these into a packaged dashboard solution.

You will have experience primarily in PowerBI environments (and ideally the wider Power Platform) and will support a growing centre of excellence in data visualisation development within Jacobs; becoming one of the go-to people for our citizen developers across the business.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Experience in dashboard and data visualisation development ideally in PowerBI

  • A keen eye for UI/UX design principles

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills

  • Proficiency in DAX & M (Power Query)

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Experience with SQL and knowledge of database modelling

  • Knowledge of data architecture and design

  • Experience with Agile methodologies

  • Experience in the use of Python (particularly graphing libraries)

  • Able to work to tight deadlines

Bonus points for

  • Experience in other Microsoft Power platforms (e.g., PowerApps, PowerAutomate, Sharepoint)

  • Broader data visualisation experience using R Shiny, Plotly and Tableau

  • Experience in cloud technologies such as Azure

  • Experience with VBA

This position can be based at any of our Hub locations in the UK and offers Hybrid working.

Weekly working hours are 40.
