Overview:

The current Jacobs Framework supports the client in the following Discipline Areas:

  • Project Management;

  • Project Engineering;

  • Quality Management & Engineering;

  • HSE Management & Engineering.

The client owns and operates 8 nuclear, 2 coal and 1 gas-fired power stations, plus gas storage facilities, renewable assets and two administration offices. The coming together of the coal, gas and renewable assets with nuclear stations makes it the largest electricity supplier by volume and the biggest generator of low carbon electricity in Britain, providing 25% of the UK’s total electricity.

SZB has a requirement to manage a campaign of loading spent fuel into it’s Dry Fuel Store facility. This is an integrated engineering and operational programme comprising of:

  • Pre-Campaign Maintenance

  • ‘Must-do’ plant and equipment modification work

  • DFS Campaign 2

  • Associated planning, contract and cost management

Reports to: Projects Portfolio Manager (PPM)

Note3: Expected to attend site during normal working hours Monday to Friday – 40hrs per week

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Degree education as minimum standard

  • Experience of working in Nuclear Sector

  • Experience of delivering projects in Radiation Controlled areas

  • Previous experience working on EDF sites is an advantage

  • Experience of managing non-UK based Contractors is an advantage

  • Experience of NDA funded programmes

  • Must recognise the importance of nuclear safety and zero harm

  • Knowledge of budgets, cost control and commercial awareness

  • Experience in delivering additional ‘value’ and value engineering

  • Good organisational and time management skills

  • Proficient in MS Office

  • Experience in delivering additional ‘value’ and value engineering

  • Excellent communications skills & interpersonal skills, including questioning for clarification and establishing of facts, observation and active listening

  • Have a working knowledge of EDF Investment Delivery (ID),

Desirable:

  • Awareness of EDF standards & procedures beneficial but not essential

Security Clearance:

  • BPSS level security clearance required
