We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced BESS Control Consultant to provide expert guidance and support in the design, implementation, and optimization of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) control strategies. As a BESS Control Consultant, you will work closely with clients, project teams, and stakeholders to assess their specific needs, develop control solutions, and ensure the successful integration of BESS with power grids and renewable energy sources. This role requires a deep understanding of power systems, energy storage technologies, control systems, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their project objectives, technical requirements, and regulatoryconstraints related to BESS control.

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of power systems and grid integration challenges to identifyopportunities for BESS deployment and optimization.

  • Design and develop customized control strategies for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) basedon project specifications, grid requirements, and industry best practices.

  • Perform modelling and simulation of power systems using software tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, or

  • DigSILENT to evaluate the impact and performance of BESS control strategies.

  • Provide expert advice on the selection and configuration of control hardware, software, andcommunication systems for BESS installations.

  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to assess the economic viability and potentialrevenue streams associated with BESS control strategies.

  • Support the development and implementation of supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA)systems for monitoring and controlling BESS operation in real-time.

  • Perform commissioning and testing of BESS control systems to validate their performance, compliancewith regulatory standards, and alignment with project requirements.

  • Conduct training sessions and provide technical support to clients, project teams, and operators toensure effective utilization and maintenance of BESS control systems.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Control Systems, or a relatedfield.

  • Extensive experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing control strategies for Battery EnergyStorage Systems (BESS) or similar energy storage technologies.

  • Deep knowledge of power systems, grid integration, and renewable energy sources.

  • Proficiency in power system analysis tools, such as PSS/E, PSCAD, or DigSILENT, for modelling andsimulation of power systems.

  • Strong understanding of control system design principles, including feedback control, optimizationalgorithms, and real-time monitoring.

  • Familiarity with supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems and their applications inenergy storage systems.

  • Knowledge of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols governing BESScontrol systems.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse complex technical issues related to BESScontrol.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technicalconcepts to non-technical stakeholders.
