About the Opportunity: 

Our Energy Transition team is focused on providing a whole system approach, offering end-to-end service to support our clients in energy networks, thermal generation, renewable generation and storage solutions. We are helping our clients meet the challenges faced in countries and cities across the globe, providing innovative solutions to address the task of replacing conventional thermal power plants with renewable generation.

Our UK and Continental Europe team is growing and we’re looking for a Civil Engineer who can progress in general infrastructure role to provide support to projects across Jacobs’ markets. This includes work on transmission system assets, HVDC interconnectors, energy storage systems, inertia systems, wind farms and advanced facilities for mission critical industries in the technology and process sectors.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Design of civil/structural solutions for transmission & distribution systems

  • Working closely with energy grid infrastructure projects and designing HV related systems including overhead lines, underground cables, substations and interconnectors.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline

  • Chartered Engineer status with a relevant institution or working towards chartered status.

  • Experience within a civil discipline and experience in delivering complex multi-disciplinary projects e.g. Water, Transportation and Buildings

  • Experience preparing design calculations, reports, and detailed drawings. CAD (AutoCAD or Microstation) preferred but not essential.
