As Energy Transition Director (Policy & Strategy), you’ll work closely with the energy and utilities sector leadership team to build a team of innovators and creative problem solvers who turn challenges into greater opportunities, helping clients make decisions that will lead to a more connected and sustainable world. In this pivotal role, you’ll develop deep trust-based relationships with our clients, to build and manage our position in major accounts and to create demand for services from across the Jacobs Group. In conjunction with our Global network, you’ll develop methods and assets to support our Energy Networks teams. As a leader in the business, you’ll help set the strategy and plan for our sector, driving forward the business, modelling our values and behaviours and coaching and developing junior members of the team.

In this role, you will:

  • Be market facing, driving sales on allocated clients and target organisations

  • Hold and control high level conversations with senior stakeholders in the markets and be capable of introducing relevant specialists from across the firm

  • Lead by example with client relationships, technical quality, service delivery and commercially

  • Actively promote team and personal profile to internal networks in order to promote collaboration and increase internal leads

  • Lead on the design and delivery of proposals for new business opportunities

  • Identify key client issues that represent opportunities for other Jacobs teams to capitalise on and play an active role in introductions

  • Sell and deliver major transformational consulting engagements

  • Bring the power of the global Jacobs organisation to drive improved account delivery and client success

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Extensive experience of business development in the energy and utilities sector; developing client relationships, strategy, resourcing, solution development, commercial negotiations and delivery

  • Ability to direct teams and demonstrate deep expertise in relevant standards and regulations

  • An extensive UK and EU network within the energy and utilities sector

  • Experience of developing meaningful client relationships leading to long-term value for each partner

  • Considerable experience operating in energy and utilities sector on significant projects

  • Able to demonstrate a high level of experience and expertise in leading delivery within the energy and utilities field
