About the Opportunity

This role sits within Jacob’s Digital. Jacobs Digital is a central team within Jacobs driving digital across the company. Digital for us is not just about technology. Digital is client led. Job Accountabilities/Responsibilities

We are looking to recruit an experienced client facing Enterprise Architecture to lead their respective industry (e.g. Water & Environment, Energy & Power, Cities & Places, Transportation including Rail, Aviation, Highways) guiding solutions and products whilst aligning to Jacobs PPS Europe and the wider business. They will provide governance, assurance and design frameworks to ensure we can provide the right portfolio of solutions comprising digital products and professional services to our markets and clients.

  • Manage and deliver the development of an implementation plan for the enterprise architecture and solution concepts based on industry dynamics and business unit and digital strategy.

  • Work closely with Solution and Product architects, guiding and supporting.

  • Promotes the business value of EA as an enabler of strategy formulation, and as support for technology innovation, which drives our clients top and bottom lines and contributes to Jacobs goals.

  • Executes the plan for the enterprise architecture based on business and digital strategy and requirements.

  • Support the development of the enterprise architecture practice into preferred an internal and client facing consultancy.

  • Plans and co-ordinate work with other domain architects that works with EA and non-EA related disciplines to deliver the goals, objectives and outcomes of the organization.

  • Builds and contributes to the architecture libraries of capabilities, skills and tech inventory; supporting a plan to close the skills gap. Finds the balance between technical, behavioral, and business and operating model skills.

  • Participates and contributes to the EA practice, governance and continuous improvement and ongoing refinement activities.

  • Manages the documentation of all architecture design and analysis work.

  • Supports and delivers on enterprise solution architecture as capacity within the team demands

  • Supports the Head of EA practice build and maintain relationships with other business units and clients, orchestration of the delivery of critical digital projects, contributes to the overall delivery of the digital portfolio

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Technical/Qualifications

  • Industry knowledge e.g. Water & Environment, Energy & Power, Cities & Places, Transportation including Rail, Aviation, Highways.

  • Knowledge and experience working with information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations, and EA and ITIL frameworks.

  • Business Model & Operating Models

  • TOGAF 9, Zachman and SABSA

  • Cybersecurity Architecture and Tools

  • Viable Systems Model, Soft Systems Methodology

  • Understanding of the different types of agile principles, methodologies and frameworks, especially those designed to be scaled at the enterprise level.

  • Understanding of existing, new and emerging technologies, and processing environments.

  • Balance the long-term (“big picture”) and short-term implications of individual decisions and organization goals.

  • Translate business needs into EA requirements and practices

  • Apply multiple solutions to business problems.

  • Rapidly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies.

  • Capable and comfortable with balancing time between foundational EA and vanguard EA efforts concerned with business and operating model design, technology innovation, speed, agility and flexibility to achieve a unified and flexible EA that meets the organization’s needs.

  • Knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), APIs, microservices, event-driven IT and advanced analytics. Mobile, custom development, RPA and ERP systems.

  • Knowledge of business process engineering principles and processes.
