About the Opportunity

We have an opportunity for an experienced Quality Management Leader to be a part of our projects divided across four delivery programmes. Each delivery programme specifies their quality requirements which in turn are delivered by a team of Quality Engineers. You will form part of the Quality Management Branch and provide quality related services, responsible for acting as the 'Intelligent Customer' in the capacity of ensuring that appropriate quality arrangements are in place and effectively implemented by the supply chain in these programmes.

Principal Accountabilities

  • The Quality Management Leader will lead a team of QEs in the Quality Management Branch and report to the Quality Delivery Manager. Working closely with the Quality Delivery Manager, the Quality Management Leader is responsible for ensuring QEs perform an appropriate level of oversight and assurance that quality is delivered by the supply chain and multi-disciplinary team (MDT).

  • Work in close collaboration with the Manufacturing Hub and is responsible for establishing and maintaining good relations with the supply chain partners, the other directorates in the project and entities within EDF Energy and EDF SA.

  • You will provide guidance and supervision, duty of care, and is the first line of escalation for the QMLs when generic or cross-cutting quality issues are encountered.

  • Ensure products/services are provided right first time and you will be required to arbitrate and support timely resolution of quality issues. Oversee manufacturing documentation and in-shop surveillance being carried out in accordance with surveillance plans, you will be required to ensure the Quality Management Branch is adequately represented and support the running of the Manufacturing Hub.

  • Ensure QEs are appropriately trained, implemented and experienced for their assigned work portfolio and maintain technical competence, monitor and report quality and performance metrics from the QEs supporting the programmes.

  • Perform line management duties, set objectives and appraise the performance of QEs, you will also oversee the implementation of LTQR reviews and Quality Release of equipment to site.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Solid understanding of the Quality Assurance and Control requirements in major projects across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning.

  • Degree qualified in a related Engineering or Science based discipline, or equivalent qualification, proven track record on influencing and negotiating in technical and non-technical discussions, knowledge & understanding of nuclear site license conditions including the nuclear sector, ideally new build, ability to work autonomously and support the Quality Delivery Manager.

  • Working towards membership of the Chartered Quality Institute & Chartered Quality Professional would be advantageous, proven experience in project delivery, preferably in the nuclear power sector, with significant focus on project quality.

  • Experience of interfacing with project teams and with supply chain organisations, ability to present quality matters and solutions to a wide-ranging audience.
