Our building surveyors across the UK project manage refurbishment andredevelopment schemes and provide many other services, including technical duediligence surveys, project monitoring, specification writing, contractadministration, employer’s agent, neighbourly matters, dilapidations and defectdiagnosis.

We are working on a number of high profile schemes and within mostsectors, especially the commercial, retail industrial, education, aviation, infrastructureand public sector arenas across Europe. With our recent merger with CH2M we have anunrivalled resource pool, customer base and secure pipeline of work nationallyand across the world.

Our M & E and structural engineering, Q.S. and many other in-house specialistsare able to assist us with each assignment, to provide an unrivalledfirst-class service.

Overview of Role

We are currently recruiting for an Intermediate and Senior BuildingSurveyor with a mix of professional and contract administration expertise tojoin our team within the London office next to Tower Bridge. We expect that the split in providing theseservices will be 50/50 but we are happy to consider an alternative mix to suityour aspirations. Subject toperformance, if you are a Senior Surveyor, we would expect you to move up to aTechnical Director position within a year or two.

You will also be supporting a dedicated team providing buildingsurveying support for a substantial commercial estate in London’s West End. Jacobs have a significant and highlydiversified client base, enabling you to enjoy a wide range of work andresponsibilities to help your career accelerate. Some travel to Europe is likely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing high calibre service and support for professional and building project service lines

  • To support business objectives and our goal to maintain Service Excellence for customers

  • Being an active part of the building surveying team and working closely with senior managers, who will help you develop your client development skills and business acumen

  • Take personal responsibility for complying with Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive proactive approach tothe role and will be committed to delivering service excellence, with goodcommercial results.

  • Degree qualified in Building Surveying or similar technical discipline

  • A team player, outgoing, friendly, flexible and enthusiastic

  • Client facing, ensuring a high standard of technical delivery

  • MRICS membership - essential

  • Ability to successfully manage projects and assignments in a proactive and diligent manner

  • Excellent report writing skills

  • Good professional skills, to be developed to an appropriate level as part of the role

  • Excellent specification writing skills and detailed understanding of JCT Contracts

  • Strong track record managing projects from inception to completion

  • A track record of working with teams and managing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering deadlines

  • Full driving licence
