Our Sustainable Solutions business provides a focus for advising our clients on sustainability issues including renewable energy, low carbon economies, impacts of climate change and waste and resource management. Our environmental capabilities comprise of in excess of 1000 staff based predominantly in the UK, but with reach into the Middle East and in India.
We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Carbon and Energy Professionalto be based in London within our Carbon and Energy team. The successful person will become part of our ambitious company with excellent career prospects and international opportunities.
Our Carbon and Energy team advises clients on sustainability issues including renewable energy, low carbon economies, impacts of climate change, and waste and resource management. This is an exciting to join the team as we focus on cutting edge projects involving:
Decarbonisation and the changing energy mix:reducing the reliance on fossil fuels and increasing the use of renewables to meet carbon emissions targets
Decentralised, distributed generation:the increasing decentralisation of the energy system with micro-grids, self-generation, local peer-to-peer trading, battery technology and EV adoption
Innovation:technology advances supporting the development of new products or services
Efficiency and storage:energy costs and carbon targets driving improvements in energy efficiency
Carbon compliance and reporting:increasing awareness of the reputational benefits of carbon reporting along with a changing regulatory framework
A BSc in science/engineering/mathematics, 2:1 or above
Experience in energy efficiency, sustainability and carbon management, either within a commercial or consulting environment
Analytical skills with the ability to identify, develop and implement business improvement solutions
Strong communication skills to engage with colleagues and clients and to provide clear, evidence-based advice verbally and within written reports
Proven project management skills, including the ability to develop clear work programmes, delegate work and manage project finances
Knowledge of both current and future environmental and energy related legislation
Ability to develop and manage client relationships
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines, both independently and as a team member
High level of competency in MS Excel
Practical experience of identifying, prioritising and implementing energy efficiency and low carbon projects in buildings and/or industry
Personable and highly motivated, self-starter who is willing to take on new challenges
Strong planning, organisational and time management skills
Member of an appropriate professional institution or working towards achieving this
A Masters level qualification (or equivalent) with a sustainability, energy, carbon, technical or economic focus
A valid UK driving licence
