About the Opportunity

Jacobs MPPG delivers major infrastructure projects and programmes including Lower Thames Crossing, Palace of Westminster Restoration and Renewal, Thames Tideway, HS2 and SuedLink. It operates in sectors as diverse as transportation, water, energy (including nuclear), defence, built environment and healthcare across Europe. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Project Managers to join our high performing team of experienced professionals.

This role is highly dynamic, requiring a self-starting and adaptable candidate to apply their project management skills to a variety of exciting high-profile projects and programmes. This brings with it a wealth of opportunities to develop your skills further and advance your career alongside industry-leading experts.

We are seeking Senior Project Managers who have a passion to work with our client teams. In this role you will:

  • Be a ‘team player’, with exceptional collaborative working and interpersonal skills;

  • Provide clear and effective leadership to the project management function;

  • Review, analyse, develop and improve the effectiveness of existing processes in relation to P3M delivery and continuous improvement;

  • Influence, advise, challenge and assist the client in their delivery of complex projects to time, cost and quality requirements.

  • Manage projects typically between £100m to £500m in value or smaller highly complex projects.

The role is high profile, undertaking complex leadership and management activities whilst assisting the development of client teams through coaching, mentoring and knowledge transfer.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Essential:

  • Extensive experience in the delivery of complex high-profile projects to time, cost and quality;

  • Experience in at least one of the following sectors; transportation, water, energy, nuclear, healthcare, built environment or defence.

  • Desire to “cross sector”.

  • Highly effective communicator, both written and orally, with exceptional interpersonal skills;

  • Collaborative working style and consulting behaviours;

  • Ability to operate autonomously, with authority, skilled in developing and building relationships;

  • Expert in the use of P3M practices and a specialist in the application of advanced project management tools;

  • An understanding of planning techniques and tools, including P6 and Microsoft Project;

  • Wide experience in application of a variety of contract forms;

  • Able to identify client requirements and scope wider business opportunities;

  • Able to quickly understand complex organisational structures and ways of working;

  • Highly computer literate including Microsoft Office as a minimum;

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Desirable:

  • Skilled in the provision of coaching and mentoring;

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject;

  • Member of the Association for Project Management (MAPM);

  • Professional Chartership e.g. ChPP, CEng

  • PRINCE2 Practitioner.
