About the opportunity:
Strategic Consulting work collaboratively across all market sectors and throughout the infrastructure lifecycle from strategy, financing and economic advice, business case and planning advice, through to capital and operational delivery improvements across our clients organisations.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Consultant to join our growing business, which can be based in the Midlands, Manchester or London (other UK wide locations will be considered for the right candidate).
Jacobs is a leading service provider in Strategic Consulting across infrastructure and construction, delivering projects at all stages from organisational set up, initial studies, design through to construction and maintenance, across the UK and internationally. Our Strategy and Transformation Practice works with clients to deliver great outcomes by creating a people and customer-led culture through the design of vision, strategy, operating models and organisational design, driven by sustainable, benefits focused transformation. We also function as internal management consultants to the other Jacobs business units as well as outside consultants and contractors to clients.
The work often involves the facilitation of teams, frequently of senior managers and stakeholders, and seeking consensus, buy-in and support in the delivery of overall client outcomes and value.
As this is a more senior role, you may be required to lead small project teams (frequently a cross-discipline Jacobs team and one that may on occasion include client colleagues) towards the successfully delivery of both client and Jacobs’ outcomes and support that team through mentoring and coaching. You will also be required to actively engage in the growth of the business unit through business development of sales and the personal and team development of colleagues.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Qualified to degree level in a relevant subject
Strategic thinking – experience in defining and delivering strategies to achieve through-life value
A strong awareness of consensus building tools and techniques
Experience of supporting successful change and transformational activities
Strong facilitation skills including excellent listening skills and the ability to empathise with project team and workshop participants
Excellent stakeholder engagement, presentation, communication skills
Experience of leading small teams or projects
Strong analytical thinking ability and problem-solving skills
A mindset to constructively challenge the accepted norms and always seek a better way
Experience in operating in a programme and/or project environment with multiple stakeholders and of operating in cross-business teams
Client and end-customer focus
Experience of Organisational design
Experience of Programme Management Offices (PMO)
Experience in working in and leading project teams
Motivated and enthusiastic with a personal drive for high quality work, continuous improvement and the application of lessons learnt
Experience in the financial management and control of projects
Exposure to business development and growth/sales
Ideally, here’s what you’ll also have:
Previous consulting experience in the infrastructure sector
Relevant post-graduate training and/or qualifications
Experience of process development / improvement
Exposure to Benefits Management and/or value management
Exposure to business development and growth/sales
