Jacobs is recruiting for an expansion of our Utility Practice. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to work with our electric and natural gas utility clients. The role will grow with the current expansion of the Utility Practice. Work is focused in the Western United States.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include functioning as technical leader for engineering projects responsible for inter-disciplinary coordination of design activities, quality assurance of engineering and design deliverables, coordination with procurement, construction, project controls and client personnel. Expected to have a thorough knowledge of established procedures and metrics. The Project Manager works with the various client managers in maintaining the varied project logs and technical records, such as value plus, critical action item list, etc. Position requires the exercise of discretion and judgment in the coordination of project operation. Assignments are carried out as directed by a client Project Manager. Duties include:
Support early Technical Project Development
Technical aspects of Project Execution (Technical QA)
Works with client Manager for all technical aspects of the projects
Interfaces Client Technical Staff
Addresses Construction Technical Issues
Perform record search and information gathering at various client site offices
Grow our Utility Practice
Here’s What You’ll Need:
BS Degree in Civil or Mechanical preferred, other engineering degrees considered
PE preferred, PMP a plus
Broad background in electric distribution and transmission, natural gas distribution and transmission
Preferred direct experience of design and construction of distirbution, transmission and facilities
Program Management experience is desired
Minimum 8+ years of project engineering experience
Prefer 8+ years of project management experience

Exceptional communication skills required
Ability to present orally, in writing and remotely
Previous experience in acquiring work from electric utility clients
Direct experience responding to RFPs
