Your Impact

Globally, vehicle fleet owners and operators are under significant pressure to decarbonize their operations. Converting large fleets from fossil fuel to zero-emission alternatives such as battery-electric or hydrogen fuel cell will be critical to a sustainable future . However, these will be revolutionary changes with major impacts on all aspects of an organization: fleet, operations, facilities, utilities, staff, and more.

Large-scale adoption of zero-emissions technology is still in its early stages, and presents significant technical, organizational, and logistical challenges. Zero-emissions fleet adoption will require detailed planning, multi-disciplinary collaboration, significant financial resources, and motivated staff to support successful execution.

Jacobs is expanding our team to tackle the complexities of transportation decarbonization for some of the largest fleet operators in the world.

We are looking for an experienced and collaborative Project Manager who thrives when people are in sync and projects are running on time and within budget. Based in California, you’ll be managing exciting and engaging projects focused on zero-emissions transit. You will be engaging with our existing transit clients, as well as supporting pursuits for new work.

You will be one of the company’s key contacts with clients and you’ll ensure overall work progress and technical performance on projects. You will contribute to and manage teams in the completion of required activities, including transportation / transit service modeling, master planning, and the development of strategic plans for our transit clients with a focus on zero-emissions transportation.

Our project delivery leadership and other senior project manager /operations leaders will clear the way for your inventive thinking and exploration, so you have the support, means and space to deliver solutions for our clients. As a passionate leader, you will leverage your mentorship skills to support our emerging talent to grow and develop our team.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Planning or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)

  • P.E. registration or AICP Certification

  • At least 10 years’ experience in a Planning, Engineering, or Transportation organization, including at least 5 years’ experience in a project management capacity

  • Experience working in a transit environment on bus and bus rapid transit (BRT) projects

  • Familiarity with zero-emissions transportation technology and its impacts on traditional transportation operations

  • Knowledge and experience of Federal and State transportation regulations and programs, including FRA, FTA, USCG, FHWA, and DOT

  • Excellent communication, time management and report writing skills

  • Great mentorship and leadership skills
