Responsible for managing Survey related services for various natural gas pipeline and valve projects throughout southern and central California. The project manager will be responsible for establishing the cost and schedule and direct management of surveying, mapping, utility mapping and research, potholing, aerial mapping and GIS mapping subconsultants.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

· Manage and supervise various types of land surveying related to gas pipeline projects and tasks including, but not limited to: Boundary Surveys, Topographical Surveys, Right of Way Surveys, Legal Descriptions, Horizontal and Vertical Control Networks, Aerial Mapping, Construction Staking, As-built Surveys and Mapping, GIS services and various mapping exhibits.

· Works on an integrated project team of engineers, planners, schedulers, cost engineers, environmentalists and land managers providing survey and mapping leadership to accomplish the PSEP goals. Reports directly to project managers on all matters that pertain to surveying and mapping.

· Manages bundles of gas pipeline and valve projects to accomplish client commitments and timing. Plans, directs and supervises various aspects of surveying to include planning field work, overseeing and reviewing office work and other related activities. Review, verify and approve survey computations for technical accuracy and quality control.

· Assesses project requirements, while developing and recommending a sound approach or application to meet the needs of the project and client. Ensures that project deliverables satisfy project requirements. Prepares and/or reviews proposals, budgets and invoices.

· Manages and enhances project quality by providing ideas and suggestions to the team aimed at improving the effectiveness of their role, and of the project activities in general.

· Mentors and trains clients, vendors and team members in project management methods, procedures and activities related to surveying services.

· Takes a leadership role in developing and executing field and office safety procedures.

· Participates in corporate initiatives to assist in meeting the company’s goals.

· Performs other incidental and related duties as required.

Here’s what you’ll need :

· Bachelor’s Degree and/or 10 years of field/office experience

· Minimum of 5 years as a Survey Project Manager is preferred

· Project experience in public utilities and Transportation industry related projects is preferred

· Must be a California Professional Licensed Land Surveyor PLS

· Must have extensive knowledge with Trimble field equipment and Trimble office software

· Ability to utilize computer systems as a tool to effectively manage projects

· Must have developed the following skills: leadership, oral and written communication skills, planning, team work, decision making, judgment and problem solving

The base salary range for this position is $99,500 - $130,640. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
