Position Summary:

Performs work involving of all aspects of transit engineering on major transit projects. Works as part of a team developing and delivering large light rail projects. This position is located in Los Angeles, CA.

  • Supports a team responsible for the development of technical requirements for a light rail project; participating as part of the team through the development, design and construction phases

  • Participates in the initial design approach for major phases of projects, experience in final design

  • Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates engineering work. Also, coordinates the design and ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with City, State, and County officials, and other outside agencies.

  • Reviews plans, schedules and prepares or reviews technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.

  • Performs other duties assigned by the Project Manager

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related engineering discipline is required

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer is required; California PE registration preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive transit design experience is required including performing design of various aspects of rail infrastructure such as track, bridges, stations, ADA pedestrian facilities design, traffic control, storm drainage design, and utility

  • Technical ability to participate in the design and creation of design (PS&E) submittal packages is required

  • Familiar with MS Office 2010 projects (Word, Excel, Project) is required
