Jacobs is seeking an Engineering Project Team Lead Manager to support the Civil Engineering Operations program at MacDill Air Force Base.

Program Mission:

The Department of the Air Force 6th Contracting Squadron at MacDill Air Force Base, FL has a continuing requirement for base civil engineering services. This includes base operations support, engineering, management, maintenance and repair of facilities and infrastructure systems, construction management, minor construction, emergency management and response, environmental requirements and programs, real property management; material procurement and management, Civil Engineer (CE) deployment training and management and exercise support.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Engineering Project Team Lead Manager (EPTLM) develops and manages project timelines. The EPTLM is responsible for overseeing project execution as outlined in the contract guided by company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Jacobs strategies, as well as Air Force requirements. The EPTLM shall assume the workload of vacated project Manager positions to ensure continuity of projects until vacated position is filled.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees project completion and deliverables.

  • Tracks budget adherence.

  • Identifies technical and cost risks within the project and implements risk abatement plans to minimize their impact.

  • Coordinates with internal and external teams to achieve project goals and timely and accurate completion Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of the Engineering Operations Department.

  • Updates and maintains databases containing project and client information. Develop and ensure Jacobs policies and procedures are disseminated and executed.

  • Provide reports, briefs, updates to Division Vice President (DVP), Government Technology Organization (GTO) as necessary.

  • Provide situational awareness to customer and staff on issues that have safety or mission implications.

  • Attend meetings as required.

  • Establish, foster, and maintain a positive, motivated, and productive staff.

  • Maintain financial profitability through proper revenue generation and expense management.

  • Goal oriented with a high level of integrity and accountability.

  • Ability to multi-task, adhere to deadlines, and work both independently and cooperatively

  • Takes initiative, is a team player, and can adapt well to a changing environment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Lifting: Up to 50 lbs.: 10%

  • Special clothing/equipment (wearing): may be required to wear PPE – steel toed shoes, safety glasses and vest when entering construction sites. 20%

  • High noise level: Active Air Force Base 20%

Description of Work Environment:

  • Work is primarily indoors in an office setting – 70%

  • Inspections and surveys are outside – 30%

  • Travel/transportation requirements: May require occasional local travel - 10%

Criticality of Attendance:

  • Work hours are normally 8 hours per day and 5 days per week, Monday-Friday. Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary. Must have flexibility of workdays to cover weekends if required.

Other Essential Functions:

Here’s what you’ll need :

Required Education / Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management from a program certified by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) and shall have and maintain one of the following:

  • Professional registration as an engineer or as an architect, or

  • Project Manager certification with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the engineering section of DoD civil engineer organization at a major US Military installation (Air Force experience preferred)

Certificate / License / Registration:

  • Maintain professional engineering registration or be licensed as a registered engineer or architect, or Project Manager Certification
