Our Built Environment Group are looking for BIM Manager tojoin our multi-disciplinary Manchester studio to take a strategic leadershiprole in our use of BIM within our Buildings projects.
The Building BIM Manager plays a key role in the design delivery and designintegration of projects delivered by the Built Environment business. Usingtechnical experience and excellent people skills, the Building BIM Manager willbe responsible for the delivery of the digital delivery of projects and guide/mentora team of BIM coordinators who will report through the disciplines.
The collective team will produce multi-disciplinarydesigns and associated deliverables in an integrated and holistic manner usingappropriate modelling and associated analytical software. The role will also bea client facing role to help our clients understand digital delivery and toresponse to bids, tenders and interviews.
As a key member of the regionalmulti-disciplinary design team, a BIMManager plays a crucial role in the implementation of the UK Buildingsstrategy, acting in support of the UK Technical lead and Regional Director skilfullybalancing commercial, technical and mentoring responsibilities. A BIMManager will be responsible for:
The digital delivery of multi-disciplinary models and information management from bid stage to project close out;
Acting as a technical interface with our IT support services;
Development and implementation of BIM systems and protocols in coordination with other Jacobs Design Studios and Regional Design Centres;
The delivery of digital outputs within project teams and the seamless sharing of information with other discipline teams, both internally and externally;
Ensuring technical quality through implementation of best practice and continuous improvement processes, this will also involve work on ‘sand box’ projects under the direction of the Built Environment SLT to continue to develop appropriate innovation;
Project level management of the BIM Coordinators;
Representing Jacobs in liaising with clients, engineers and other design team members;
Develop and maintaining excellent client relationships through successful project execution;
Management of a library of content suitable for Building’s multi-disciplinary delivery and integrated with the work of the ETN, and;
Assisting in the preparation of technical and commercial bid proposals, including responses to ERI, producing MIDP, TIDP and BEPs.
The BIM Manager willcooperate and work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team,regional team leads cross the UK and within the European Technical Network.
Externally a BIMManager is expected to work closely with external organisations (includingarchitects and engineers) within a project team and with our clients throughall stages of our relationship with them.
The role will require:
Relevant experience in the multi-disciplinary design, specification and procurement of buildings;
BRE or similar level accreditation;
A clear understanding of our multi-disciplinary design approach and the delivery of projects to a high quality, from bid stage to operation;
Ability to lead a team of engineers, liaising directly with clients, architects and other design team members;
Experience in the successful management of projects;
Experience and understanding of multi-disciplinary design processes;
Ability to represent Jacobs at external meetings;
An excellent knowledge of BIM and the ability to implement the use 3D multi-disciplinary modelling on projects.
An understanding of the analytical tools that support the design disciplines
Ability to use modelling and analytical tools to eliminate health and safety risks in the design
A BIM Manager must be a very strong communicator,capable of presenting technical concept and solutions to clients andcollaborating with multi-discipline teams to achieve the best results.
