Our Sustainable Strategies and Solutions business provides a focus for advising our clients on sustainability issues including renewable energy, low carbon economies, impacts of climate change and waste and resource management. To meet our growing UK business needs and future development aspirations we are looking for a hydrogeologist experienced in hydrogeological assessments, particularly EIAs, and to be based in our Manchester office.

Primary Job Responsibilities

You will be working on projects for a wide range of public and private sector clients. You will also work with other disciplines within the group to deliver project for major infrastructure clients. Responsibilities include:

  • Hydrogeological data assessment

  • Preparing specifications for hydrogeological testing

  • Field work

  • Factual and interpretative reporting (including preparation of ES chapters)

  • Liaising with clients and other design team members

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Environmental management / geology / earth sciences degree

  • Hydrogeology MSc

  • Experience working on a variety of hydrogeological projects

  • Field experience

  • Excellent report writing skills

  • Ability to work remotely from office

  • Essential understanding of health and safety issues appropriate to the role

  • Proven ability to work as part of a team, liaising directly with clients and other design team members

  • Consultancy experience

Desirable:

  • Work with water utilities

  • Modelling experience

  • Contaminated land capability
