The Digital Factory is comprised of a broad range of individuals from varying backgrounds, who together work on diverse projects including front end application development, detailed analytical and statistical modelling and innovation in areas from machine vision to big data processing using cloud services and beyond.
The Digital Factory is currently experiencing unprecedented growth and we have a unique and exciting opportunity to join the Low Code team as a Developer.
You will have experience in the Mendix low code development environment and will support a growing centre of excellence in low code development within Jacobs; becoming one of the go-to people for our citizen developers across the business.
The successful applicant will become part of a respected and hardworking team, providing support to clients and other team members alike. They will work closely with the Data Science, Development, Sales and Operations teams, gaining good knowledge and experience across a range of skills. Applicants should be keen, hardworking and have excellent technical skills and problem solving abilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a developer you will work with the technical lead to help design, implement and run new solutions. This includes the following key areas:
Design - Working with our subject matter experts and incubation managers to help produce a solution specification which will meet customer needs in a timely, secure, stable and scalable manner.
Build - Develop and integrate the solution to meet the specification.
Test - Work with the functional testers for pre-prod and UAT testing
Deploy and Run – Bring development through to release, ensuring efficient and effective delivery, with a view to reducing the ongoing maintenance and support burden.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
2-3+ years’ experience in Mendix low code application development (essential)
Experience in contributing to delivery of applications from concept, through beta & into production
Experience and comfort with Agile methodologies
Familiarity with cloud technologies such as Azure or AWS
Knowledge of Database Modelling
Knowledge of solution architecture and design, and web application performance
Knowledge in related technologies such as DBMSs, Application Servers, JS Frameworks or other components that can integrate with low code development platforms
An eagerness to learn & evaluate new and emerging technologies
A critical thinker with an open mind who can be unique, continuously be challenged and is willing to challenge others. Mistakes are welcome – being able to offer a solution is the secret ingredient!
Bonus points for
Mendix developer qualifications/certification
Experience in other low code platforms (e.g. Outsystems, Power Apps or other)
Experience in ASP.NET & C#
Experience in DevOps within Mendix
