About the opportunity:

  • We deliver design, project management and asset management consultancy services to a wide range of clients across the Water sector, in the UK, Ireland and Europe.   • Within our Water and Environment Operating Unit, the Water sector has vacancies for Senior Project Engineering Managers and Project Engineering Managers.

  • Initially you may be managing projects in the water sector for water companies in a seconded position normally based within the Client’s offices in the North West of England.

  • Your responsibilities will include:

  • Project management of water sector projects, in both clean and wastewater, including projects on live treatment works, networks and reservoirs.

  • Leading multi-disciplinary teams undertaking notional solution development, estimating, liaising with stakeholders, preparing tender documentation, bid reviews and business case preparation.

  • Our project engineering managers also take on roles within design & build teams partnering with a Contractor, managing technical discipline resources during the implementation, handover and closedown phases of projects with key focus on technical governance.

  • Whether working within a Jacobs team, seconded into the client team or working as part of a delivery organisation, the role requires safe delivery of projects to meet budget, time and quality thresholds while also reflecting Jacobs Values.

  • Taking responsibility for the safe delivery of projects to meet programme and budget requirements, whilst maintaining high quality standards.

  • Managing multi-discipline teams.

  • Contract administration, forecasting, schedule management, QA documentation.

  • Ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of your project team.

  • Planning and scheduling work.

  • Identifying and managing risk and change.

  • Reporting on performance.

  • Internal (Client) and external stakeholder management.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Proven project management/delivery ability on water, wastewater or environmental projects.

  • Degree in a related engineering discipline or project management.

  • Able to operate autonomously, with authority, skilled in developing and building relationships.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrable knowledge of Health and Safety and Environment legislation including CDM and the actions required to achieve compliance.

  • Experience in NEC3 ECC forms of contract.
