About the opportunity

Jacobs Connected Places Team have an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in helping us to deliver and grow our portfolio of work within the electric and future mobility markets.

We are seeking a Senior Electric & Future Mobility Consultant who can work across a broad spectrum of global markets to respond to our clients emerging challenges as they transition to a network of cleaner and smarter mobility that will be enabled and accelerated through the widespread adoption of technology. Our clients in the electric and future mobility market extends to both public and private sector organisations which has allowed our team to develop a strong reputation for innovation and the establishment of an extensive pipeline of transformational projects that will delivered over the next 24 months. An important function of the role will also be drawing on your extensive experience to undertake complex leadership and management activities to assist with the development of our delivery teams through coaching, mentoring and knowledge transfer.

This role can be based in any of our offices across the UK although there will be an expectation to travel and be present in line with project and client requirements. As Senior Consultant, you will join our growing Electric & Future Mobility Team and will have experience and extensive knowledge in all or a proportion of the following areas:

  • Electrification of the transport network, covering a broad range of technical areas including the development and implementation of long-term strategies for public EV charging networks, fleet transition across all transport modes and the management of infrastructure deployment programmes.

  • Micro and Shared Mobility strategy and deployment, including strong relationships with providers and operators.

  • Future technology including Connected, Autonomous, Shared and Electric Mobility.

  • Integration of modes through the design and deployment of concepts such as Mobility Hubs and Mobility as a Service.

  • Data analytics, specifically in relation to modelling and forecasting of future mobility scenarios.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Able to lead delivery of projects of moderate size and complexity or support more senior colleagues in the delivery of larger or more complex programmes

  • Good at all forms of communication, including reports, presentations, workshops and meetings. Experience in using design software packages, such as Adobe InDesign would be a bonus.

  • Enthusiasm for networking and building new relationships with clients and colleagues

  • Stakeholder engagement

  • Capable of working on several projects at the same time and able to prioritise their activities

  • Must be a “details” person as well as being able to work well with colleagues from a variety of disciplines
