About the Opportunity
We are looking for a Solution Architect experienced in IT system design, development, testing, support, and management to work under our Technology Director to help design and build a large-scale Digital Enablement Centre (DEC) with a hybrid on-premises/Cloud-based infrastructure and with a physical point of presence at our site in Birchwood, Warrington.
The DEC will support clients with IT and OT systems spanning multiple industry sectors, will federate with related partner facilities, and will enable us to provide digital services that underpin R&D and Test & Evaluation activities both internal to our business and externally to our clients.
The role entails hybrid working, with a general expectation of being on-site 2-3 days per week. To this end, we are looking for a hands-on individual who is happy to work at the detailed design and implementation level.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Qualifications & Experience
o Highly experience in designing, building, implementing, and testing IT systems (Defence IT being preferable)
o End-to-end Systems Engineering lifecycle
• Frameworks, languages, methodologies, and tools:
o Architecture Frameworks, such as TOGAF and UAF
o Modelling Languages, such as: SysML and UML
o Modelling tools, such as: PTC Windchill Modeler and Sparx EA
o Knowledge of multiple cloud vendor technologies (e.g., MS Azure, AWS, Google cloud)
o Experience with virtualisation technologies, such as VMWare vSphere
o Experience with Container orchestration technologies, such as Kubernetes or Docker Swarm
o Currently hold SC clearance
o Be a full UK national
