Increased workload from new projects wins mean we are continuallylooking to recruit the right calibre of person to get involved in ourinteresting and challenging projects.

Main Purpose of the Job

To providetechnical assistance in relation to land and buildings valuation, management,maintenance, repair, condition surveys to Technical Assistants, GraduateSurveyors, Senior Surveyors, Surveyors and Principal Surveyor to assist thedelivery and maintenance of an efficient and professional valuation andproperty service.

The main contacts of the job are the Principal Surveyor, Senior Surveyors, Surveyors and Graduate Surveyors – Portfolio Management, Jacobs Clients, Manchester City Council, Area Regeneration Teams, external bodies, members of the public, the business community and private sector surveyors.

Main Duties

  • Tofacilitate and obtain where requested the repair, securing and clearance ofLand and Property in accordance with our clients’ requirements and agreed bythe Principal Surveyor or Senior Surveyor

  • Tofacilitate and obtain where requested the inspection and condition survey of Landand Property in accordance with our clients’ requirements and agreed by the PrincipalSurveyor

  • Toeffectively support the maintenance of our clients’ performance measurementsystems

  • Toprepare and submit reports, memoranda and letters for approval by Line Managerand as required input and extract information from the computer systems

  • To keeprecords of Inspections, Repairs, Surveys, Land Clearance, etc. to provide adatabase for caseload and to monitor records accordingly. To update schedulesas required

  • Tomanage caseload in a productive and cost effective manner following our clients’systems and financial regulations

  • Toactively participate in new initiatives and future changes in service deliveryimprovements

  • Toassist Surveyors with appropriate information of property condition and repairas part of their preparation and submission of papers to Land Tribunal, CountyCourts and any other bodies in order to present evidence on behalf of ourclients

  • Toactively pursue own personal development and take full advantage of trainingprovided

  • To take reasonable care of the health andsafety of self and other persons whilst in work

  • To raise orders with contractors, carry outgeneral administration duties, attend meetings with contractors and liaise withutility companies

For this job we are looking for

  • Aknowledge of Property, Land and Buildings and how property is owned, managedand transferred

  • Abilityto manage own caseload and work to strict deadlines with minimum supervision

  • Excellentwritten communication skills to produce reports and provide correspondence insupport of the work of the Valuation and Property Services business

  • Activelistening and verbal communication skills for effective communication withmembers of the public and Valuation and Property Services colleagues.

  • GoodICT skills.
