Your Impact:

The Quality Assurance Technician conducts post installation inspections to verify that quality installation standards are met and maintained. Inspections are completed on all facets of network installations, including physical placement of conduit, category 5 and fiber optic cable, wall jacks, hardware, racks and communications equipment as required.

Also includes but is not limited to surveys, installing other conveyances, pulling and terminating cable, determining and implementing required pin outs, installation of equipment chase cards, power supplies, racks, patch panels, etc. testing and documenting installation, dressing and labeling cables, patch panels, etc.

Trains mission partners on the use of video systems that have been installed.

The employee can make independent decisions that deal with the daily schedule and work to be accomplished. Issues requiring monetary approval have to go up the reporting chain.

The employee is not involved personnel or compensation decisions.

Will support site surveys for complex projects and provide input for the materials list, labor estimates for preparation of bids and proposals by the Surveyor.

Responsibilities also include integration management, planning and installing new systems and conducting ad hoc modifications to existing systems

Reads project and work schedules, works with Project Scheduler/Manager advising of all significant events that impact successful completion of assigned installation work schedules.

Leads cable plant installation projects and supervises employees involved in direct installation of telecommunications / network cable subsystems at various locations.

Conduct post installation inspections to verify that quality installation standards are met and maintained.

Provide “on the job training” appropriate for all new hires and installation personnel as required

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Qualifications (minimum requirements, per the contract):

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Must take and pass a drug test and background check as well as a motor vehicle records check.

Must be willing to travel as needed

Must be able to interface with individuals at all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing

Proficiency in the use of MS Office product suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint)

Must pay attention to detail and remain alert at all times.

Must be able to maintain regular, reliable attendance and ensure on time daily arrival

Knowledge of Polycom, AMX, and Extron video equipment.

Able to troubleshoot issues with video equipment.

Desired Requirements (nice to have but not required):

Experience with conduit preferred

Experience with AUTOCAD preferred

Attendance:

Attendance is critical at all times. Must be able to work a 40-hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.

Customer and Personal Service:

Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Other Essential Functions/Characteristics:

An Information Technology Generalist proficient in many facets of information technology requirements. The candidate should possess general business knowledge and soft-skills allowing them to be adaptable in a wide array of work environments. The candidate should have the willingness to participate in these type of activities when called upon to do so.

Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others. Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.

Must be well-organized with the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously. Must work well under pressure to meet deadline requirements.
