About the Opportunity

Jacobs is currently building its acoustics capabilities across Australia and New Zealand and we currently have an excellent opportunity within our Victorian (Melbourne) Acoustics Team for a Senior to Principal Acoustics Consultant / Team Leader. The role will provide technical and professional leadership to our current strong pipeline of work in Victoria and assist in developing the Acoustics Team in Victoria. The role requires a strong client management and business development focus, with the ability to network with new clients and maintain positive relationships with existing clients both internal and external to Jacobs to identify key project and growth opportunities in Victoria and across Australia and New Zealand.

About You

You will have experience in environmental and/ or building acoustics (with a willingness to work across both fields) and managing small teams. Skills and requirements for the role include:

  • Bachelor degree in relevant discipline. Post graduate qualifications are well regarded

  • Well-developed business development skills, ability to maintain positive relationships with existing clients as well as the skills to win new clients. Existing relationships with government or private infrastructure organisations would be well regarded.

  • Senior to Principal level experience with proposals and project management

  • Technical competency and the ability to develop strategies for project execution

  • Recent experience in reviewing acoustic assessments and noise models (SoundPLAN) for large scale infrastructure projects. Experience with CANDA A / R would be beneficial.

  • Skilled people leader able to communicate difficult concepts and negotiate with others to adopt a different point of view
