About the opportunity
We are actively seeking to appoint a Section Leader to drive the growth of our Transport Planning business within Victoria, Tasmania and the ACT. This represents a fantastic opportunity to lead a high performing team, with established pipeline of work and existing customer relationships.
Reporting to the Director of Operations (Transport - Southern), this role will lead and develop the Transport Planning Section within the Buildings and Infrastructure business in Melbourne. The position represents a key leadership role and will be accountable for driving and growing the business. The successful candidate will be experienced in business leadership and will be responsible for providing senior project leadership, multi discipline project management, documentation reviews, preparation of tender proposals and business development activities.
As a key member of the Operations Leadership Team, you will work collaboratively to deliver on operational objectives. This will include:
Develop a Section Plan in line with Operational and Regional business plans, monitor implementation and develop corrective actions if and as required.
Work pro-actively and collaboratively with other members of the leadership team to deliver strategic and growth objectives.
Lead the Section to deliver against agreed goals, strategies and KPI’s.
Monitor local industry, competitor and client trends, assessing and managing their impact on capability and competitiveness in the market.
Lead change management and performance initiatives in the Section.Implementation of resource sharing opportunities across other Sections and across Southern Region and the APAC Region.
Support and advise Project Managers on managing operational risk, including project delivery, HSEC, quality and service.
We require a tertiary qualified individual with previous experience within a relevant professional services/consulting based setting. Ideally you will have exposure to working across multiple market sectors in the Victorian market. You will be required to demonstrate your track record of success in building effective client relationships and contributing to business growth. Our ideal candidate will be a collaborative decision maker with the ability to develop and inspire others. Identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement to build a constructive culture is key for this role.
