Jacobs Senior Financial Accountant in Melbourne, Australia

Jacobs is in the market for a Senior Financial Accountant – ANZ - to oversee the month end close for the ANZ group of entities, including assisting with month end and board reporting. As part of your role, you will review and analyse accounting reports to ensure accurate and timely reporting of the Company’s financial results.

In addition, you will provide key support to the Financial Accounting and Compliance Manager with all aspects of finance and ensure compliance with the group’s SOX obligations.

  • Team lead for the month end accounting process to ensure preparation of accurate and reliable financial results in accordance with agreed timetables

  • Support the Financial Accounting and Reporting Manager with preparation of month end reports and quarterly reports for Board reporting purposes

  • Team lead for the interim and year-end audit processes, including SOX testing

  • Review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis

  • Provide key data for Bids and proposals to the sales team as required

  • Ad-hoc projects and support with system implementations / enhancements as required

Leadership

  • Provide leadership, supervision and motivation to inspire all colleagues and members of the finance team to achieve excellence and to work co-operatively to their full potential

  • Provide day-to-day operational support to Accounts Payable Officer and Accounts Receivable Clerk

  • Demonstrate personal energy, enthusiasm and commitment to create an environment of good team spirit amongst all employees

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Advanced in Microsoft Excel

  • Good working knowledge of Oracle General Ledger

  • Experience with SOX compliance

  • Experience with being a team lead

  • Experience with working in a global organisation
