In this role you will be responsible for project delivery, design management & project management, for positioning and winning projects involving a range of services. The role will be instrumental in collaborating with commercial, project management, engineering and design technical leaders to create opportunities for Jacobs to plan, develop, deliver and operate a range of projects.

Based in either Melbourne or Sydney and reporting to the Transport Planning Leader for our Southern and Eastern regions, the Pedestrian Modeller is responsible for providing pedestrian modelling services in the Transport Planning market in the ANZ region. With the support of the Transport Planning Leader and Technical Directors for Transport Planning, Transport Engineering and Transport Modelling, you will be a key resource for pedestrian modelling and assessment projects, with a moderate degree of technical and/or integration complexity, as well as providing technical guidance for transport modelling advice on strategic consulting and design projects.
Through regular industry participation, you will assist in developing relationships with our Focus clients. You will provide technical inputs into bids for transport modelling work and assist with bids for strategic consulting and design projects; as part of this you will often work collaboratively with multidisciplinary, multi-geolocated teams. The role will be responsible for project delivery and project management of small projects and packages of work, and for positioning and winning projects involving a range of services. The role will be instrumental in collaborating with commercial, project management and technical leaders to create opportunities for Jacobs to plan, develop, deliver and operate a range of projects. Here’s What You’ll Need:
Thorough understanding of theoretical pedestrian modelling concepts and application
Good understanding of the interfaces between transport planning, traffic engineering and transport modelling to devise and deliver practical and economical solutions to problems
Good experience (with no supervision) with the latest pedestrian modelling methodologies, processes and software packages, such as Legion, MassMotion, VISWALK, Aimsun Next pedestrian module
Desirable experience in the latest mesoscopic and microscopic modelling methodologies, processes and software packages, such as VISSIM/AIMSUN
Good experience in analysis and interpretation of outputs from transport modelling software packages
Good ability to interpret and communicate modelling results of a medium and high complexity
Working knowledge of the local environment, relevant industry, particularly working within the ANZ Transport Sector
