Position Summary

The Mechanical Engineer role researches, develops and designs a variety of equipment, components, products and systems for petrochemical and industrial purposes. Has comprehensive understanding of principles, theories, concepts, and industry practices and standards and their application. Responsible for performing all aspects of engineering and design for assignments. Works under minimal supervision but work is reviewed for adequacy on completion. May provide some technical guidance to less experienced design and engineering personnel.

  • Perform job responsibilities as Mechanical Engineer under the direction of the Lead Mechanical Engineer

  • Prepare engineering specifications and requisition packages for inquiry and purchase

  • Prepare technical bid evaluations and make recommendations for purchase

  • Review supplier data to assure specifications and project requirements are met

  • Review critical path and long lead equipment packages

  • Experience with reviewing and developing facility drawings

  • Interface with suppliers for compliance with equipment performance metrics

  • Coordinate and incorporate client requirements and standards

  • Develop Mechanical Work Plans for the construction and installation scopes of a project

  • Keen safety awareness

  • Able to perform job walks wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in an operating facility

Qualifications

  • Recognized Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or University required

  • 4-7 years of experience with engineering design of oil and gas production (upstream) facilities, piping systems and equipment specifications is required

  • Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required

  • Registered Professional Engineering license preferred
