Jacobs Senior Architect in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom
We are looking for a Senior Architect to join our busy andexciting Milton Keynes Studio, who are currently working on some extremely diverse andchallenging projects.
The Senior Architect will play a role inproviding project design leadership and discipline integration of projectsdelivered by the built Environment business. Using technical experience andexcellent people skills, the Senior Architect will manage projects and may guide/ mentor less experienced architects, Part 2s or Part 1s to produce designs andassociated deliverables for projects. The role will provide a client facing leadfor projects of moderate complexity or a support role on higher complexityschemes and ensure that Jacobs maintains the highest technical standards,levels of service and quality.
As a member of the regionalmulti-disciplinary design team, a SeniorArchitect plays a significant role in the delivery of technicalsolutions, acting in support of the Team Principal, balancing commercial,technical and mentoring responsibilities. A Senior Architect willbe responsible for:
The delivery of technical outputs of projects and the seamless sharing of information with other discipline teams;
Ensuring technical quality through implementation of best practice and continuous improvement processes;
Representing Jacobs in liaising with clients, architects and other design team members;
Develop and maintaining excellent client relationships through successful project execution;
Develop talent by coachingand mentoring less experienced staff and supporting their technical careerdevelopment aspirations;
Management of project resources and reporting to the Team Principal;
Assisting in the preparation of technical and commercial bid proposals.
The Senior Architect will cooperate andwork closelywith other members of the multi-disciplinary team members of regional teams acrossthe UK.
Externally a Senior Architect is expected to workclosely with external organisations within a project team and with our clientsthrough all stages of our relationship with them.
The role will require:
Relevant experience in the design, specification and procurement of building structures timber to the relevant standards;
ARB Registered and member of a relevant professional body, or equivalent level of experience;
Ability in the architectural design and delivery of projects to a high quality, from concept to completion;
Ability to undertake structural inspections and report on material and construction defects and provide guidance for remedial repairs;
Ability to lead a team of designers within a project, liaising directly with clients, engineers and other design team members;
Experience in the successful management of the design of projects;
Experience and understanding of multi-disciplinary design processes;
Represent Jacobs at external meetings;
Sound knowledge of BIM and the ability to implement the use 3D design processes on projects;
Ability to develop designs to eliminate health and safety risks within the design.
A Senior Architect must be an strongcommunicator, capable of presenting projects and design solutions to clientsand collaborating with multi-discipline teams to achieve the best results.
