Jacobs Structural Engineer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

We push the limits of what’s possible to make the world smarter, more connected, and more sustainable.   We are looking for an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our Milwaukee team.

In this role you’ll participate in the development of technical specifications, plans, elevations, sections, and details for various structural projects, including water /wastewater treatment, pumping stations, institutional, and industrial facilities. You’ll be working mainly from home (unless you prefer coming into the office), with the expectation to travel for client /site meetings and occasional team meetings.

You'll support a Lead Engineer on large, complex projects with engineering design, reporting, analysis and calculations. You’ll have the opportunity to lead smaller scopes of design work independently. You’ll coordinate with architects and other engineers in the progression of design, as well as provide direction and markups to BIM/CAD designers to develop the BIM and drawing sets. You’ll participate in client or contractor meetings and will support Contract Administration during construction through shop drawing reviews, responses to RFIs and site visits.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural Engineering

• Professional Engineer registered in the State of Wisconsin (or the ability to obtain registration).

• 3-8 years of applicable experience working as a structural engineer in design of industrial buildings and other structures.

• Strong communication and technical writing skills

• Experience with structural analysis software (i.e., STAAD, RAM, SAP2000, Visual Analysis, etc)

• Experience with all aspects of structural engineering design, including phases spanning from preliminary design through to construction
