The general maintenance technician will be responsible for completing repairs and preventative maintenance on several buildings and assets. Specific roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Building and paved surface assessments and repairs
Roof and gutter maintenance and repairs, and roof leak containments and clean-ups
Annual storm drain clean-outs
Drywall, plaster, and paint repairs
Flooring repairs and replacement, including tile, VCT, vinyl, laminate, and carpet
Window repairs and replacements
Testing of life safety systems, including exit signs and lights
Man door, roll door, and hardware preventative maintenance and repairs
Providing support to other crafts, such as electrical, plumbing, alarms, HVAC and HAZMAT

We are looking for a motivated General Maintenance Technician to join our team and support our efforts with building and grounds maintenance.
Ideally, you should have:
At least 4-years of journeyman level work experience in a skilled trade, or related experience.
Basic understanding in the areas of electrical, plumbing, roofing, drywall repair and paint, masonry, flooring, door hardware, and other trades.
Ability to understand and apply codes, blueprints, diagrams, and engineering drawings.
Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and practices, and ability to safely use hand and power tools.
Ability to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts and other heavy equipment.
Self-motivated and results oriented, with strong attention to detail.
Excellent customer service, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines and ability to effectively prioritize work and manage time.
Must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and obtain a NASA badge to gain access to the work facilities.
Unusual or Special Physical Requirements of Position
(Office work and outside work that includes potential for confined space access, control of energy operations, use of fall protection technology. Training and certifications provided as needed.
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time while operating machinery and performing job duties.
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted and occasionally lift or move heavier items with the assistance of lifting devices or other workers.
Required use of uniforms and PPE, including but not limited to eye, head, foot, hearing and breathing safety equipment.
Strenuous physical exertion is sometimes required when handling heavy and bulky materials such as plywood sheets, framing members, and other building/construction materials.
Work may take place in shops where there are moderate to high noise levels.
Work may take place in environments containing sawdust, glue fumes and hazards associated with woodworking and/or related power equipment.
Description of Work Environment
- Both indoor and outdoor field work will be performed, which will include occasional exposure to inclement weather conditions.

Regular use of office equipment and radio.
Regular use of vehicles to travel around the campus.
Use of power, hand tools, and heavy equipment associated with the trade.
Criticality of Attendance (specify and provide % of time required)
Work Schedule: Regular work hours (Monday – Friday) with on-call an overtime work as needed.
Regular and reliable attendance required.
Occasional travel required.
