Jacobs’ Montgomery, AL Building and Infrastructure Team seeks a Construction Manager who wants to make a difference in their community through solving the exciting construction challenges facing Jacobs’ clients. We are looking for a highly motivated Construction Manager to work on a variety of water, wastewater, and other municipal/state government projects. This position will support mid and senior level engineers and project managers, to conduct construction management services, perform constructability reviews, facilitate the project bid phase development, perform construction site observation, provide construction progress and schedule reviews, and assist with equipment / facility startups and construction project closeout. The role is anticipated to include both field inspection for construction services and in-office tasks associated with contractor management. Each day, you will be an important team member as you support engineering design staff from concept through construction completion for our clients. You should be a self-motivated professional with a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each project while delivering transformative projects for our clients, in our diverse and fast-paced office.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Work under the supervision of mid and senior level engineers and project managers.

  • Prepare Field Observation Review Reports, RFQs, Progress Meeting Agendas/Summaries, and review Pay Applications, Submittal Data while fielding construction related questions and keeping the Owner informed of the project status.

  • Conduct site visits for field audits and perform construction observation.

  • Independently evaluate the selection and/or modification of standard techniques, procedures, criteria and systems to efficiently meet project goals.

  • Review vendor information to assure compliance with specifications.

  • Participate on engineering teams in the preparation of reports, studies, and calculations.

  • Assist senior engineers on larger, more complex projects, including managing project tasks.

Here’s what you’ll need :

Basic Skills & Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Building Construction, or related construction management or engineering discipline

  • 0-3 years of relevant experience

  • Knowledge and proficient use of Microsoft products including SharePoint, Word, EXCEL, Teams, and PowerPoint; ability to develop and utilize complex spreadsheets.

  • Strong data analysis and technical problem solving

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Outgoing and positive attitude, dependable, and committed to meet all assigned project deadlines.

  • Willingness to develop competence in a broad array of engineering related tasks

  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, organized, and able to successfully multitask.

Preferred Qualifications

  • M.S. in Civil Engineering or related Construction Management discipline
