Your Impact:

At Jacobs, we don’t just lead the development and implementation of environmental compliance, we live it. As a Junior Environmental Engineer, you will work in the office and field with a multi-disciplinary team consisting of experienced engineers and consulting staff. Working closely with senior Environmental Engineers, you’ll support the delivery of environmental projects by preparing reports and project documents, preparing calculations, maintaining strong relationships with internal staff and clients, evaluating and reviewing data and ensuring the environmental strategy is being followed.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science

  • 40-hr HAZWOPER certification or ability to obtain and maintain

  • Physically capable of conducting field work in remote locations in varying weather conditions  

  • Knowledge of environmental compliance, environmental consulting, and client interactions/relationships

  • Basic knowledge of federal and state/provincial environmental regulations

  • Possess business acumen that is applied in all aspects of project execution 

  • Live in the Huntsville, AL area or ability to relocate

  • Travel up to 25% - 50% time may be required

  • Strong attention to detail when making technical evaluations and reviewing reports 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and possess the ability to deliver compliance advice and internal team members

  • USA Citizenship is required for this position

Ideally you'll have:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience within environmental consulting including field experience (groundwater and soil sampling)
