Business Unit Description:

Working within Jacobs NDA Estates business unit you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging nuclear decommissioning projects for a wide range of clients, gaining experience in the design and development of innovative engineering solutions. You will have the chance to work alongside experienced engineers, giving you the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and skills which will enable you to develop and progress your career.

Role Outline/Responsibilities:

  • Development of EC&I engineering/design deliverables throughout various stages of the project.

  • Gathering information and developing survey scopes.

  • Prepare plans, functional and technical specifications, contract documents and estimates.

  • Interfaces and co-ordinates with Safety Case and System Requirements teams.

  • Performs calculations and evaluations in the design of equipment and systems for industrial and commercial applications.

  • Participates in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned projects.

  • Maintains effective communication with project team members and with the project delivery team and customer.

  • Directs activities to ensure that construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications, recognised codes and standards, and customer requirements.

  • Serves as a liaison between project teams, subcontractors, and design teams.

  • Performs other duties assigned by Discipline Lead/Project Team.

  • Can produce and maintain key deliverable documents/reports, calculations, schedules, drawings etc. to programme.

  • Can liaise and coordinate with other design disciplines and plant engineering in the preliminary/detail design process.

  • Can represent the CE&I design in meetings and reviews.

  • Design and installation in accordance with the IET 18th edition (BS7671)

  • Conversant with Sellafield Ltd. working practices and demonstrable delivery experience

  • Fibre optic network architecture design

  • Stakeholder management and interaction with key projects

  • Desirable:

  • Degree Qualified in relevant discipline

  • Chattered Status with relevant institution

  • Holds SC Clearance
