Key Responsibilities include:

To deliver framework and project level Quality systems, procedures and processes, to enable the company to deliver and demonstrate a quality service to its clients and continuously improve the business.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • To provide Quality Management support to the Project.

  • To define, create, develop, update and maintain the Project Quality Management policies and procedures.

  • To provide Quality Management governance across the Project.

  • To provide direction to the Project quality management communities as appropriate.

  • To work as part of the Project management team in discharging his/her duties that will enable effective engineering delivery across all directorates or business streams.

  • To ensure regular Quality Audits are conducted in accordance with the Project quality procedures.

  • To ensure that quality plans are generated by the Projects and that they are regularly monitored.

  • To ensure validation and verification of design, manufacture, fabrication and construction / installation activities

  • To promote a culture of continuous improvement with regard to project delivery encouraging a ‘plan, do, review and improve’ approach.

  • General Line Management Duties

  • Other activities as required.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Essential

  • Degree-level qualified/HND

  • Lead Auditor Qualified with suitable auditing experience. Experience in the application of relevant quality / environmental / occupational safety management system standards (ISO 9001/ISO 14001/ISO 45001). Knowledge of the requirements of GS-R-3 (management systems for nuclear installations)

  • Nuclear Project delivery and construction experience – can we say SL experience is essential rather than desirable? No point putting someone in to head it up who has never worked on SL before.

  • Experience of continuous improvement tools and techniques

  • Able to interact and influence at all levels in the organisation and in Clients/Third party organisations

  • 10 Years’ Experience as a Quality Manager/Engineer

  • 5 Years’ experience in a site Construction environment – with multi-disciplinary experience – EC&I, Mech, Civil

Desirable

  • Understanding of QC inspection techniques.

  • Membership of an appropriate Engineering or Technical Professional Institute

  • Experience of design oversight & assurance.

  • Sellafield experience
