About the Opportunity

Jacobs acts as the Technical Advisor to PEJ Sp z.o.o. (PEJ), which is the state-owned entity responsible for delivering Poland’s nuclear power programme. Jacobs role is that of an “Owner’s Engineer”, which is not involved directly in any Nuclear Power Programme (NPP) design or construction activity, but rather acts as an advocate for the Client, applying technical due diligence to all aspects of the process, along with supply chain and contract management support for plant and equipment vendors engaged by the Client.

Jacobs fulfils this function through the delivery of engineering and technical packages of work (referred to as Service Authorisations (SA)) which require the development, approval, implementation and reporting of a diverse range of engineering and technical methods by suitably qualified and experienced team members.

In addition to the PEJ programme, Jacobs has positioned themselves as a key advisor to other developers emerging within the Poland Nuclear Power Programme.

The role is to support the NPP Operations Team to manage the development and delivery of Resource Plans across the Polish Programme within the Nuclear Power Programmes Business. The role will require the applicant to implement strategies and solutions to support growth and meet the business plan objectives. The Service Manager will engage with the wider NPP team and the project leadership team to ensure all NPP resource business requirements are understood correctly and properly, to deliver high-standard services.

  • Provide professional service management process to ensure projects run smoothly, with minimum downtime on resources to be deployed to projects

  • Owner of the NPP Resource Management Plan with day-to-day monitoring ensuring it is fully compliant with project requirements

  • Working and liaising with the Projects/ Frameworks and Ops Teams to devise Synergies and Opportunities to inform the resource plan, with a 3, 6, 12 month look ahead

  • Providing project managers with support when it comes to resource management issues or improving resource management processes

  • Monitoring day-to-day resourcing, recruitment and onboarding activities

  • Coordinate the succession management plan for NPP providing potential opportunities to our people for continued career development and personal growth

  • Develop and update job descriptions and job specifications together with the hiring managers

  • Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs to LinkedIn

  • Screen and manage candidates - Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships

  • Provide and monitor stats and KPI’s to inform future planning and finance forecasts

  • Represent Jacobs at an Operational level, supplier’s reviews and bidder forums

  • Develop, capture, and communicate innovation and best practice in the business

  • Participate in the refinement, improvement, development, and implementation of the business plan for the future of the business

  • Selection and assignment of all disciplines to projects, matching skills to the challenges of the project

  • Maximize client satisfaction with work done

  • Initiate and implement work process improvements
