As an emerging Water Construction Engineer/Inspector, you’ll join our collaborative team providing our clients with award-winning engineering, construction management, and design-build project delivery. We are seeking a construction professional in the NYC/NJ area, with water infrastructure construction experience who is driven by collaboration, exceeding expectations, and challenging the status quo. You’ll provide construction engineering and inspection services on various water and wastewater projects.

As part of our project team, daily activities may include: Documenting contractor progress and quantities completed; actively managing and documenting on the status of the project schedule and budget; review of contract plans, specifications, submittals and material information; construction material testing; and utilizing contract documents to perform general monitoring and documentation of construction activities. In this role, you'll also communicate with all members of the Jacobs team, client, and contractor and work together to mitigate or eliminate project risks. Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related discipline

  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook

  • Working knowledge of construction engineering and document control

  • Ability to interpret contract plans and specifications

Ideally, You'll Also Have:

  • Professional experience on water/wastewater or general civil construction projects

  • Engineer in Training-EIT certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license in NY or NJ

  • OSHA 10 or 30 hour training

  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and MicroStation
