We are excited to announce a career opportunity to join us as our New Jersey Office Operations Leader (OL). Joining us, you’ll be a vital member of the Northeast Regional Management team in which we collectively build thriving communities, healthy cities and a brighter future. As the OL, you’ll partner with executive leadership and Sales Leadership to support delivering the northeast business plan, goals, and strategies.
By becoming part of our dynamic team, you’ll serve as a people leader and will be accountable as well as responsible for the following activities:
• Provide leadership and connectivity among the different elements of the Jacobs operational model including connectivity among the Sales, Operations, Project Delivery teams, while driving collaboration across Markets within in the Northeast Geography
• Deliver Gross Margin (GM) and Operation Margin (OM) based on the established Annual Business Plan for the Market Performance Unit (PU)
• Manage G&A based on the Annual Business Plan for the Market PU
• Supervise and provide staff leadership and management to the Group Leaders (GLs) and Mangers of Projects (MOPs) for the Market PU
• Support employee development and succession planning for staff within the Market PU
• Track and manage the total billable hours for the staff aligned to the Market PU
• Lead PU project resourcing decisions and coordinate staff resourcing, including augmentation using Global Design Centers (GDC) and Global Integrated Delivery (GID) staff on projects
• Support the Client Account Managers (CAMs) in the establishment and execution of the strategic recruitment to respond to market needs
• Work in partnership with the Sales Leadership team to develop and execute on the strategic direction and annual New Business In (NBI) plan for the market
• Collaborate with the CAMs in tracking the actuals versus plan for the NBI for the top ten pursuits in the market
• Drive improvement in client satisfaction and deliver projects to the satisfaction of both the client and Jacobs
• Coordinate with the Geographic Director of Projects (GDOP) and Legal, quality, and safety teams on risk mitigation measures
• Undertake the role of Designated Project Executive (DPE) or Principal in Charge depending on the nature of the project and the needs of the business for at least two of the top ten projects for the PU
• Contribute to the Northeast business planning and quarterly forecasting reviews.
• Work in partnership with the Human Resource (HR) partner and Talent Acquisition (TA) on recruiting and hiring of talent, talent retention, driving Inclusion and Diversity, and exemplifying and leading Jacobs Culture of caring throughout the Market PU
• Support Cross-Market integration for key programs
• Promote BeyondZero, quality, and safety programs to create an incident- and injury-free culture
Here’s What You’ll Need:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Proven relationships with New Jersey state and municipal agencies such as NJ Transit, NJDOT, NJ Turnpike Authority, etc.
• Experience managing a portfolio of projects and staff in the AEC industry
• Proven client development, leadership, and project delivery experience within the market
• Successful track record of being innovative and bringing a differentiated solution to a client
• Ability to lead through inclusion, inspiration, and innovation
• High degree of acumen and experience related to sales and sales tools and processes
