When it comes to environmental consulting, we’re focused on cleaning up our communities today to improve our tomorrow. We’re seeking an Environmental Engineer for Project Manager responsibilities to oversee complex remedial projects for federal clients. You’ll apply your technical experience in environmental remediation to develop strategies and work plans while championing safety, quality and the well-being of your team.
Based out of the Midwest (Chicago, Milwaukee, Detroit, St Louis), you’ll have the opportunity to work on remediation projects across the region and across the country. You’ll grow your career as you interact with key clients to grow our business while working with recognized technical experts, developing and implementing comprehensive site strategies, and delivering innovative solutions on some of the most challenging sites. You’ll collaboratively manage project teams that include junior field and technical staff, senior technical consultants, and technical subject matter experts, with support from Jacobs internal management, to deliver environmental projects with a strong focus and emphasis on environmental remediation.
Most projects will require thoughtful strategy development, leveraging technical expertise with client and stakeholder collaboration. All projects need to be delivered with high safety, compliance, and quality standards expected by both Jacobs and our clients. Here’s What You’ll Need:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or other closely related engineering degree. Master’s degree preferred.
Professional Engineer (PE)
Experience as project manager at Superfund sites.
Experience conducting site investigations/characterizations, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, engineering evaluations, remedial designs/actions, and optimizing remediation systems.
Experience in identifying and resolving key issues impacting remedy implementation (technical, regulatory, risk, land use, etc.) and emerging issues.
Experience as a Project Manager providing client consulting services and representing clients to stakeholders such as regulatory agencies, property owners, government officials, and other consultants.
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
Master’s degree Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with contractors, team members, regulatory agencies, and clients.
Ability to think strategically and critically analyze details.
Able to think on multiple levels while gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing all relevant data to make sound recommendations.
