We are one of the delivery partners for NEOM THE LINE, one of the most iconic giga projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, arguably one of the largest projects in the world. Based at NEOM Site, Jacobs has an opening for a Senior Environmental Manager. Responsible will include:

  • Manage THE LINE environmental management program, compliance programs, including operational, environmental and sustainability management system requirements

  • Dealing with environmental management of the construction contracts in conjunction with the project director and development team lead

  • Developing and optimising environmental strategies for the program

  • Provides technical inputs on design vision, project positioning, scope requirements, and project schedules for initial planning

  • Monitoring and verifying the environmental performance of Project construction activities through various methods including field inspections and audits, review of Project documents, analysis of data and information related to environmental performance, coordination of progress meetings, assessment of environmental conditions and day-to-day coordination with other environmental professionals and Project teams

  • Monitoring the implementation of corrective actions

  • Leading/ coordinating environmental incident response and root cause investigations and overseeing implementation of controls to prevent recurrence

  • Preparing and/or coordinating the preparation of environmental performance summaries, reports, dashboards, inspection and monitoring forms or logs (stand-alone or for inclusion into other Project progress reports)

  • Preparing, contributing to, or maintaining planning documents including environmental plans and procedures, risk registers, compliance obligation registers, objectives, targets, KPIs

  • Reviewing Project requirements, performing gap assessments, preparing registers / logs / summaries

  • Analyzing environmental data and information, documenting findings, preparing requests for information (RFIs) or other queries

  • Preparing environmental training and awareness materials and delivering training to a Project teams

  • Managing the performance of other environmental and sustainability professionals, consultants, and contractors as necessary.

  • Preparing scopes of work and specifying requirements for inclusion into contracts, framework agreements and other contractual documentation.

  • Preparing environmental training and awareness materials and delivering training to Project teams.

  • Assisting with the achievement of sustainability objectives, targets and KPIs as necessary.

  • Performing any other duties as might be necessary to achieve the Project’s environmental and sustainability requirements, objectives, and targets.

  • Checking of the environmental aspects of design.

Here’s what you’ll need :

As a successful candidate you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering from a recognized university in a physical or natural resource related field including environmental science, environmental engineering, etc. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Environmental certifications such as IEMA, CEnv., REP / REM, QAES, CPESC, etc. would be an asset.

  • Management qualifications (PMP, MBA, other) would be an asset.

  • At least 20 years of combined experience in civil infrastructure, a substantial amount of which constitutes working with PMC organizations to manage the environmental compliance of civil infrastructure development Projects or Programs. GCC experience preferred.

  • Experienced in preparing and implementing Environmental Management Systems and associated plans and procedures.

  • Excellent attention to detail- ensures that work products are thorough, accurate, precise, and free of errors.

  • Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex problems.
