These services include site acquisition, design, and construction to full operations, maintenance, and deconstruction.

THIS POSITION IS FOR NEW CASTLE, PA. The Telecom Civil Technician provides support of all civil construction activities on telecommunications sites. Tasks include site excavation and grading, installing underground utilities for power or telco services, and concrete pours required to support new telecommunications towers, equipment shelter or other power systems.

  • Must maintain and enforce the Jacobs Beyond Zero safety program, ensure daily jobsite safety plans are reviewed and followed, and stop work when unsafe work practices or conditions exist

  • Works autonomously on work sites under general direction of supervisor

  • Executes manual labor tasks including loading, lifting and transporting materials in a safe manner

  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned

  • Travel up to 100%

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Successful completion and passing score of all mandatory company certifications are required

  • Valid Drivers License is required

  • Clearance of background and drug screen is required

  • Ability to lift, carry, push and pull 75 lbs. required

  • Ability to crouch, kneel, twist, reach and grasp with both hands and/or legs required

  • Availability to work overtime to include Saturdays, Sundays and evening hours required

  • Familiar with concrete work, surveying principles, and structure erection or foundation installation methods

  • CPR/First Aid certifications preferred

  • OSHA 30 certification preferred

Essential Functions : Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting up to 75 pounds. Hand manipulation is required for grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights
