As an Architectural Designer, you’ll have the chance to work with our internal network of engineers and architects designing facilities for the Federal Government and related institutions. Working with other members of the team, you’ll develop design packages using CADD, Revit and other software. During your time with us, you will generate design analyses, construction drawings, and specifications. Additionally, you’ll perform field work, both prior to design and as a follow up during construction period activities, and you’ll be involved in client charrettes. This position performs a variety of architectural drafting skills including the following tasks: field work to take dimensions to existing conditions interior/exterior areas, elevations, roof area, prepare hand sketches to show existing conditions; strong CADD skills to develop drawing include floor areas, schedules, elevations, details, sections, material take off estimate, be able to understand client standard, criteria and details, sketch out layout and design concepts, Cad concept design, and prepare design documents and construction documents including specification editing client master specifications.
You will be assigned as an architect drafter/designer on facility projects for United States Postal Service. Projects will be in and for various types of facilities and will concentrate on major architectural renovations in existing buildings.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
BS or MS in Architecture for NAAB college or university
At least 2 years of experience in architectural design of facilities
Must be able to perform extensive field walking tours outdoors and indoors in utility-type spaces.
Ability to visit client facilities throughout NY Metro Area
Ability to support work for/in other offices which may include travel
Ability to travel internationally on at least a limited basis
United States Citizenship and valid US driver’s license
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
In progress NCARB Record for Architectural Experience Program documentation
Experience in 2D AutoCAD drafting and 3D/BIM modeling. Experience with Autodesk REVIT
Experience with concept development of buildings using Sketchup
Knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including ICC, ASHRAE, and NFPA
Experience and Knowledge of broad range of architectural design building systems
Knowledge of and experience in applying New York City and New York/New Jersey/Connecticut States building codes
